We built our mini earthship in 2001 in England. Its not really big enough to be called a real earthship and its not finished off properly, but its still a wonderful building. We call it our Earth-dinghy or Earth-tub ! It is loosely based on the earthship concept of Mike Reynolds.. the garbage warrior ! It stays surprisingly warm inside even in winter and never dips below freezing inside even when its below zero outside.. amazing considering there is only a polythene front. It is made from recycled materials, scrap car tyres and sycamore trees. The kids love it and call it the hobbit house. Earthships are fairly easy to build by people with no building skills and considering the amount of scrap tyres there are in the world, earthships could be an answer to the huge global housing problems. We also made the music that goes with this film.. A few people have asked about it so heres a link to where you can get it... The tune on this film is called 'Follow the sun' and is by Moksha. You can download our album for FREE for a limited period from bandcamp; http://bit.ly/1eIG7Zm it says name your price but you can put in £0. :-) Check out our home grown self sufficiency video here http://youtu.be/Tl6-T5MjIPI
