Oklahoma Watch: Mental Illness


Oklahoma Watch reporter Clifton Adcock discusses jails and prisons and the mentally ill. Adcock reports the process of closing institutions for the mentally ill resulted in many people with mental health problems winding up in county jails, where they fail to receive treatment. Adcock reports its much more costly to incarcerate the mentally ill than to provide treatment. This story aired on the ONR on OETA-The Oklahoma Network.
