Documents Reveal U.S. Cold War Nuclear Target List


nuclear war in 1959 seemed very possible for the U.S. This included the "systematic destruction" of major urban centers like East Berlin, Moscow and Beijing. The National Archives and Records Administration has released a detailed study produced in 1956 that includes a list of the United States' targets . This new list gives one insight on how this war would have panned out or at least the type of bloodshed. any of the targets included densely populated areas that were known as population targets.
