Massive California Methane Leak Plugging To Finally Begin


Southern California Gas Co plans to begin this week drilling a relief well to plug a massive underground leak of natural gas that has been seeping into the air since mid-October. The leak now accounts for a quarter of the state's entire methane emissions. On Tuesday the utility's president and chief executive officer, Dennis Arriola said that efforts to seal off the crippled gas storage well could take three to four more months to complete.
