Alleged Claims On Facebook's Biased Trending Topics

Recently, an unnamed, former Facebook employee told Gizmodo that workers "routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers," and "artificially" added other storied into the trending list that appears on user's home pages. This claim caused alarm to social media users and journalists who took to social media to express their rage. Facebook has responded to the claim, and said that the allegations have yet to be proven as true. A spokesperson also that the company has "rigorous guidelines" in place. The statement said "these guidelines do not permit the suppression of political perspectives.
