Despite having ideal terrain for growing hemp, which can be used for everything from rope to paper, Nebraska farmers say that officials are blocking what could be a potential gold rush. Because marijuana is still a schedule 1 drug, it is illegal to grow hemp in Nebraska, even though hemp contains almost none of marijuana's psychoactive component.
