Sanders loses convention leverage

Bernie Sanders was supposed to win in California and have enough leverage to take his platform to the convention in July. But Sanders lost by huge numbers and his relevance and leverage dwindle day by day. Sanders' team has started signaling that it’s reached a new phase of the campaign, one where they will have to bow out. However, the campaign continues to act like sore losers by not sounding a truly conciliatory tone. Sanders’ advisors and aides consistently point to leverage when asked why, exactly, he’s formally staying in the Democratic primary race that he’s lost to Hillary Clinton. But it's the one thing he’s been bleeding every day ever since he dropped California’s primary by a much wider-than-expected margin last week.
