Teen Girl Can Now Keep Her Therapy Chickens

15-year-old girl Sarah Downing is now able to keep her two hens and two roosters, as decided by the Hempfield Township's zoning board on Tuesday. According to her parents, the four chickens are her emotional support animals. However, this did not excuse the other chickens living in their home. The family had about 25 chickens roaming and living at their home until April, when the neighbors filed complaints about the animals. Sarah Downing told local station WPIX about her chickens, saying, "You can just cuddle them.
