Alton Sterling was a felon. Philando Castile was a ‘good man.’

Alton Sterling and Philando Castile are just two of the 566 people who have been killed by police in the United States in 2016. Sterling and Castile were both gun-carrying black men shot and killed by police for seemingly no reason, their deaths both caught on video. But they differed in one major way: The former was a convicted felon and a registered sex offender.
