Battle to recapture Mosul from ISIS stalled despite initial optimism



In Iraq, local militias are fighting to cut supply routes leading into the city of Mosul, Islamic State's stronghold in the country. The US-backed operation to recapture the city, which started five weeks ago, is still a long way from victory - contrary to what some were perhaps expecting by this point.
