Undeterred by a U.N. anti-settlement resolution, the Jerusalem municipality is due to consider on Wednesday requests for construction permits for hundreds of new homes for Israelis. The areas in which they would be built include areas that Israel captured in 1967 and annexed to the city. The country is still fuming over the resolution approved last Friday by the United Nations Security Council. It demands an end to settlement activity in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The decision by the United States to abstain in the vote rather than wield its veto, has been described by Israel as "shameful." The US is a long standing ally of Israel but the Obama administration is a strong opponent of the settlements. http://bit.ly/2ibrnWv http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
