The United Nations Security Council is to convene in New York on Saturday, December 31, where it is expected to vote on a draft resolution regarding the Syrian conflict situation. The voting follows Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitali Churkin’s call, on Friday, December 30, to the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution endorsing the ceasefire agreement in Syria.
