Russian officials evacuating Maryland diplomatic compound #okc #news #wth



The Russian Diplomatic Retreat in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland, was originally purchased by Russia (then the Soviet Union) in 1972 as part of the Nixon-era thaw in the Cold War. After the dissolution of the USSR, the Russian Federation retained the property, which is equipped with swimming pools and tennis courts. It is one of the properties being evacuated after President Barack Obama’s expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats and their families. RT correspondent Nebojša Malić reports.
