For the first time, a study shows how signs of stress in a specific part of the brain could predict future heart trouble. For some time, doctors have known that stress affects the cardiovascular system. But how that happens has been a mystery--until now. Using images obtained from PET CT scans of the brain, the study shows that the amygdala caused increased bone marrow activity, which in turn generates inflammation in the arteries which can lead to atherosclerosis--also known as "hardening of the arteries." According to CBS News, meditation and rich social connections can calm the amygdala's overactivity and in turn reduce its negative effects on the cardiovascular system. http://cbsn.ws/2j5o0Rq http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
