Some 20 million people are insured under the Affordable Care Act, including tens of thousands of Americans living with HIV. Republican lawmakers are considering repealing the ACA, also known as Obamacare, as early as this month. If this happens, "it is not clear if individual insurance prices would skyrocket..or what the new coverage will look like." John Peller of the AIDS Foundation says, "Any kind of interruption in care is going to result in more cases of HIV." Peller added, "When people with HIV are treated and their viral load is suppressed, their likelihood of transmitting HIV goes down to almost zero." In Illinois alone, one in three people with HIV gained medical coverage through Medicaid under the ACA expansion. http://bit.ly/2ifTpzm http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
