John McCain Just Accused Trump Of Helping ISIS & All Hell Is Breaking Loose #okc #news #wth

On Sunday morning, Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) sat down with CBS’s John Dickerson to talk about Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration. Trump’s order, which was signed on Friday, ends the refugee resettlement program and bans people from seven Muslim-majority countries — Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia — from entering the U.S. Dickerson called the order the “first big signal in what ‘America First’ means.” The host was referring to Trump’s inaugural address, specifically when he claimed that “from this moment on, it’s going to be America First.” Dickerson also asked McCain how he thinks the rest of the world is interpreting this move by the United States. Senator McCain first said that he thought that Trump and his administration were wrong not to inform U.S. allies, particularly those in Europe, about the decision. He explained: ”another thing that should have been done, of course, was to alert our friends and allies what we were doing because we would expect them to cooperate because people are leaving from these various places, particularly in Europe.’ McCain then went on to say that he thought Trump’s decision would influence recruitment for ISIS, but not in the way supporters of the order would expect. ‘I think the effect will probably, in some areas, give ISIS some more propaganda.’ He added that he is concerned about the U.S.’s relationship with Iraq, one of the countries included in Trump’s immigration ban, especially since the U.S. is not currently the “dominant influence” there. ‘I’m very concerned about our effect on the Iraqis right now. The dominant influence in Iraq today is not the United States of America, it’s Iran.’ McCain is not the first person to make the suggestion that the order could give ISIS more propaganda. Ryan C. Crocker, a former ambassador who served across the Middle East, expressed a similar sentiment in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Crocker explained: ‘This helps Islamic State frame the U.S. presence in the Mideast as a war against Islam.’ Since it was signed on Friday, Trump’s executive order has been met with massive protests. While Trump may not listen to the protests of the people he claims to represent, he should definitely heed the advice of experts like McCain and Crocker, before he makes the U.S. any more enemies.
