Maine Becomes Eighth U.S. State to Legalize Marijuana #okc #news #wth



On Monday, Maine officially became the eighth U.S. state to legalize recreational use of marijuana. Almost immediately after, the state's Republican governor, Paul LePage, reportedly called lawmakers to approve funds to develop rules to oversee pot sales. LePage, who opposed legalization, said this week that he would order Maine's Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations to hold off on coming up with new rules to govern the sale of marijuana until legislature approves new funding.
