Oil prices have hit an 18-month high as OPEC members and other big oil exporters cut crude production. Brent crude jumped more than 2 percent to hit 58 dollars and 37 cents, which is its highest rate since July 2015. U.S. light crude oil also reached 55 dollars and 24 cents, following a 1-point-52 dollar rise per barrel. The production cuts are raising hopes that the global oil oversupply will diminish. January one marked the implementation of a deal agreed by the OPEC and other exporters to reduce output by almost 1.8 million barrels per day.
