Protesters rallied outside New York’s JFK airport on Saturday, after two Iraqi nationals, who had been granted visas to the US, were detained following President Trump’s executive action, banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. Protesters chanted “no hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here” and the word “resist” repeatedly, while holding up placards declaring “refugees are welcome here” and condemning Trump’s order. A lawsuit has been filed in federal court in Brooklyn on behalf of the two detained Iraqi men, who have ties to the US security forces.
