The alt-right subreddit was shut down on Wednesday, with Reddit citing violations of its content policy. Reddit is a community discussion forum with hundreds of groups called subreddits. The subreddit altright was banned for "the proliferation of personal and confidential information". In a statement from Reddit the company said, "We ask our communities not to post content that harasses or invites harassment."
