On Friday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas Rueter reportedly ruled that Google must comply with an FBI search warrant for customer emails stored on a foreign server. This counters a ruling last year when a federal appeals court decided Microsoft did not have to disclose data stored on its servers in Ireland. The current FBI warrant is due to a domestic fraud investigation.
