North Korea's missile test draws negative reactions #okc #news #wth



North Korea’s reported missile test has drawn angry reactions from its neighbors and the United States. Head of the foreign affairs committee in the Russian parliament has also reacted to the missile test, urging other countries to step up their efforts to reduce tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Leonid Slutsky has said that the situation in the region is quite unstable and may turn into a hot conflict. The reactions came following reports that North Korea fired a ballistic missile from Banghyon airbase in the western North Pyongan province. North Korea has conducted two nuclear tests and an unprecedented number of missile launches since early last year. Despite sanctions and international pressure, Pyongyang has pledged to strengthen its military capabilities to protect itself from what it describes as a threat posed by the presence of the U-S forces in the region.
