Impostor Scams Outnumber Identity Thefts #okc #news #wth

A growing number of consumers are falling victim to impostor scams. Con artists are impersonating trustworthy people like government officials or law enforcement agents. A new report from the Federal Trade Commission says complaints about impostor scams surpassed identity theft for the first time. The FTC looked at more than three million consumer complaints. American consumers reported losing more than $744 million overall to fraud in 2016. That averages roughly a thousand dollars per victim. Most of the people affected are age 50 or older. http://cbsn.ws/2n3HfzP http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
