Iraqis fighting their way into Mosul old city center #okc #news #wth



Military officials say the government troops and their allied forces are advancing toward Mosul’s old center from two fronts. They have attacked four neighborhood including al-Dawasa, which mostly houses government buildings. The operation to take back the western side of Mosul began on February 19, as part of a large-scale offensive to recapture the entire city. The eastern section has already been regained. The northern city of Mosul is the last Daesh stronghold in Iraq. It fell to the terror group’s hands in June 20-14.
