England set to lift COVID restrictions despite soaring cases



The UK's prime minister has announced plans to lift most COVID-19 restrictions in England in two weeks - while acknowledging that it could drive up infections. People will not have to wear face masks in most places or maintain social distancing from July 19th. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said England's successful vaccination campaign enabled the country to drop the restrictions, despite rising infection and hospitalisation numbers.
