Chinese envoy to UN: China respects choices of the Afghan people



The situation in Afghanistan has undergone major changes and China respects the wishes and choices of the Afghan people, Geng Shuang, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, reiterated on Monday. Geng made the remarks at a UN security council emergency meeting on Afghanistan. The current priority is to restore peace and stability, and avoid unnecessary casualties, said Geng.
