Taliban seizes eighth provincial capital, Pul-e-Khumri in Baghlan



The Taliban has captured its eighth provincial capital in Afghanistan - this time in the city of Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, which is north of Kabul. Earlier, Fighters overran the city of Farah in the southwest after a fierce gun battle. Afghan forces are also battling the Taliban to retain control of the provinces of Helmand, Kandahar and Herat.
