Tensions between Israel and Gaza have been gradually soaring since the internationally mediated fragile truce in May 2021. On January 1, Israel launched airstrikes against militant targets in the Gaza Strip as a ‘retaliation’. The attacks came hours after Palestinian outfit, Hamas, fired two rockets towards Israel from the Gaza strip. The rockets reportedly missed the target and fell into the Mediterranean sea off the coast of Tel Aviv.
