MyPillow CEO Freaks Out After Phone Records Subpoenaed By January 6th Committee

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell confirmed to CNBC that his phone records have been subpoenaed by the January 6th Select Committee, and also that he had his legal team file an emergency injunction to stop what he calls a "corrupt subpoena." Lindell clearly doesn't want his phone records to be viewed by the Committee, making it all the more likely that his records should probably be released to the Committee. Mike Lindell, the founder and CEO of MyPillow, confirmed this week to CNBC that he has in fact had his phone records subpoenaed by the January 6th select committee and as expected, he is not very happy about this new development. Lindell said in a statement to CNBC, I wasn't there on January 6th and yes, they did subpoena my phone records, but we filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against the January 6th committee and Verizon to completely invalidate this corrupt subpoena. I seriously hope that your lawyer were not foolish enough in their filing to call this a corrupt subpoena. The committee 100% has the authority to issue these subpoenas. It is in no way corrupt. And of course, as everybody in this country knows, nobody has pushed the election conspiracy theory harder than Mike Lindell in the past year. Like this makes total sense that the committee would want to get their hands on his communications. Not only are they attempting to prove that these Capitol rioters were basically incited by all of the election lies taking place, but then once they prove that they've gotta go through the chain and find out who all was pushing this to find out who needs to be held liable. That is the entire point of the committee now. It has become very clear that that is what they're trying to do. So Mike Lindell, you can fight the subpoena if you want, but you don't have any real claims at all of executive privilege. I mean, even Trump doesn't have that to fall back on, he's losing those cases. So what exactly is your legal rationale for being one of the top peddlers of that election lie to withhold your documents from that committee? I, I, I don't think you have one at all. So this is gonna crash and burn probably fairly quickly from what I can tell, of course there's always the possibility that Lindell at the time, wasn't in communication with any of these individuals. But given the fact that he is fighting so hard and clearly panicking about his records being subpoenaed, I have to imagine he was talking to somebody that he doesn't want us to know about. Yeah. That's kind of how this works. You know, whenever these individuals, whether it's Mike Lindell, whether it Trump or Bannon, whenever they fight so hard to prevent their records from getting into the hands of investigators, it's usually a safe bet that it's because they have something they want to keep hidden. I mean, that has essentially been the hallmark of the entire Trump administration. Nope. You can't have my academic records. Nope. You can't have my tax returns. Nope. You can't have my other financial records. Nope. You can't have my communications. Nope. You can't have my documents from January 6th. Yeah. Because we all assume you have something you want to keep hidden from us in there. And it's no different with Mike Lindell. But again, the committee is attempting to set up this chain of individuals and events that cast doubt on the 2020 election, which in turn caused the people on January 6th to believe the election was fraudulent and that belief is what led them to storm the Capitol. It's a pretty simple chain. It's a pretty simple idea, to be honest with you and that is what the committee is seeking.
