The Foundation’s Teachers Warehouse - Oklahoma

Teachers Warehouse | The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools - Rise up Oklahoma City

The Foundation’s Teachers Warehouse has distributed more than $1 million in needed supplies since the program began in 2008. In an urban school district where parents struggle to meet basic needs, 60 percent of teachers report more than half of their students come to school without the supplies needed to learn. Too often, the cost of purchasing supplies for students falls to teachers who are already purchasing supplies for their classrooms out of their own pockets.

The Foundation’s primary goal with Teachers Warehouse is to remove barriers to learning by providing supplies students and teachers need to provide the best educational experience possible. To date, more than half of OKCPS teachers benefit from the program. Every month, teachers have the ability to place orders for free supplies through an online store. The average monthly distribution of school supplies is more than $20,000. Currently, the Foundation is experiencing record numbers of orders – filling more than 700 orders valued at more than $40,000.

Oklahoma City’s teachers are incredibly grateful for the support they receive through this program. They’re also incredibly thrifty — finding new and creative classroom uses for file folders and myriad other office supplies!
