A federal judge ruled Sheriff Joe Arpaio in contempt of court for violating an order meant to end racial profiling in his sheriffs department. Judge G. Murray Snow said that Arpaio, who calls himself "America's Toughest Sheriff," and his three top deputies failed to enact changes that targeted minorities. The ruling could end in criminal prosecution.
