Viewers can buy and forgive medical debt like John Oliver

http://youtu.be/9EVPXQfn0gU
On Sunday night John Oliver pulled an historic stunt on national television with the largest give-away in television history. The Last Week Tonight host bought $15 million in medical debt and forgave it for people who were struggling to pay medical bills. The charity RIP Medical Debt was designed to help everyday individuals do the same thing. The nonprofit cuts into the cycle of debt buying that Oliver outlined on his show and helps the average American purchase and forgive medical debt. The charity emphasized that having insurance doesn't necessarily protect patients from overwhelming medical debt. About 70% of people who go bankrupt with medical debt actually have medical insurance as well. The charity encourages people to give a random act of kindness to a struggling stranger. http://bit.ly/1OcihGJ http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
