Wildfires Spread Across Israel - Suspected Attack



► Subscribe to GlobalLeaks: http://goo.gl/bY5w6 Hundreds of Israelis have fled from dangerous wildfires in the West Bank this week. Officials believe a Palestinian militant group is responsible for starting the fires. At least 16 people have been arrested on suspicion of arson after the fires were started near Israeli settlements. A combination of dry air, strong easterly winds, and lack of rain have made fire control very difficult for fire crews. The blaze has since spread the Dolev, Alfei, Karnei, and Menashe - all Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority has since sent multiple firefighters to assist in battling the blaze. Russia, the U.S., and Turkey are also assisting in fighting the fire. This comes amid heightened tensions in Israel and Palestine. Just last year numerous stabbing and car-ramming attacks led to a major security crackdown by Israeli police.
