Mexico's president has thrown his full weight behind a decision to raise fuel prices amid growing public anger over the government's measure. Nieto argued that increasing the price of gasoline was necessary due to a rise in global oil prices. Nieto added that he understands people's outrage over the measure. His remarks came as federal police reported new protests and roadblocks throughout Mexico on Wednesday. People have been hitting the streets since January first when the government announced a 20-percent-hike in the price of gasoline.
