Syria: Assad discusses planned peace talks with French delegation #okc #news #wth



Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed the upcoming peace talks in Astana, Khazakstan, with a delegation of French parliamentarians and intellectuals including Member of the French National Assembly, Thierry Mariani, in Damascus, Sunday. Assad said he was ready for a reconciliation with the militants as long as they laid down their weapons. He accused France of maintaining a policy which had worsened the situation in Syria through backing opposition groups.
