President Trump said on Thursday that he wants to make the U.S. nuclear arsenal the "top of the pack," expressing his thoughts the the U.S. had fallen behind on the development of atomic weapons. He did not detail the kind of expansion he would pursue, as the stockpile of U.S. nuclear weapons hasn't expanded since 1967. Press Secretary Sean Spicer elaborated on the statement in a press conference, saying the U.S. "will not yield its supremacy in this area to anyone."
