Thousands of Native Americans are protesting in Washington D.C. against the construction of the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines. The demonstrations follow a months-long protest in North Dakota at a contentious building sight for the Dakota Access pipeline led by the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. The tribe is concerned that the pipeline, which will pass underneath a local lake, will threaten the reservation's water, which is fundamental to their religious practices. After President Donald Trump signed an executive order last month, the path for construction is back on track. But protest organizers have taken tot he National Mall, not far from the White House, and have erected tipis with the intend to say for days. http://bit.ly/2norcZA http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit Vote It using http://wochit.com
