According to emails published by wikileaks Monday, Mandy Grunwald, longtime political advisor to Hillary Clinton, urged her presidential campaign to support a new version of a law that separated commercial and investment banking. Titled the Glass-Steagall act, it would be revised in order to avoid antagonizing the Democratic Party's progressive wing. The Act was a Depression-era law that banned commercial banks from participating in risky trading activities. The 1933 law was repealed in 1999. Many Democratic activists believe that reinstating the Glass-Steagall law and breaking up large financial institutions would help prevent future financial crises such as the recession in 2008. http://bit.ly/2dIbKVl http://bit.ly/1fJ5yqZ This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com
