China says won't allow Hong Kong to be used as subversion base #okc #news #wth



China says it will not allow anyone to use Hong Kong as a base to damage Beijing’s political stability. The top Chinese official also stressed that Beijing would not let anybody challenge the country’s authority. The remarks come as the Chinese government is concerned about an independence movement in Hong Kong following recent demonstrations in the financial hub. Hong Kong returned to the mainland China in 1997 under the QUOTE-“one country, two systems” accord. The agreement allows Hong Kong to have its own political, legal, economic and financial system.
