U.S. President Donald Trump has called called on the pharmaceutical industry to boost their U.S. production and lower their prices. He also vowed to speed up approval times for new medicines. The Republican president met with the CEOs of Novartis AG, Merck & Company, Johnson & Johnson, Celgene Corp, Eli Lilly & Company, Amgen and the head of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, which is industry's lobbying group.
